Generally considered to be the most versioned rhythm of all time (apparently there are over 450 versions out there…) this is the original (and in my opinion still the best) from Wayne Smith dating back to 1985.
In true reggae fashion there is an amazing backstory to this one that connects Jamaica to Japan via a Casio keyboard preset that you can read about here and which, in turn, inspired me to write this article for Test Pressing.
