Publicado originalmente en la primavera de 1983 en Slash, ‘Violent Femmes’ es el trabajo ms importante de la banda folk-punk de Milwaukee liderada por Gordon Gano y Brian Ritchie. La decena de canciones se grabaron el verano anterior en los estudios Castle con la produccin de Mark Van Hecke y, aunque no obtuvo un reconocimiento a su salida, los excelentes sencillos extrados, con ‘Blister in the Sun’ a la cabeza, hicieron que el boca a boca y posterior apoyo meditico lograron que este disco fuera certificado ‘oro’ cuatro aos despus de su salida y ‘platino’ cuatro ms tarde. Hasta la fecha, Violent Femmes han publicado nueve discos de estudio, pero ninguno ha logrado replicar su debut.
Esta edicin 40 aniversario incluye el lbum original y 22 cortes demos, caras B o tomas en directo. Est disponible en 2CD (SoftPak con libreto). La versin 3LP + 7″ limitada tiene prevista su publicacin el prximo febrero.
