Stephen Malkmus publica Traditional Techniques en Domino, el tercer LP en solitario de Malkmus sin sus Jicks (o Pavement).
Traditional Techniques es una nueva fase de la msica folk para gente de la nueva fase de msica folk, con Malkmus tan en sintona como siempre. Est repleto de arreglos hechos a mano, folklore moderno y 10 canciones escritas e interpretadas con su singular voz. Un nuevo lbum aventurero en un modo familiar instantneo, Traditional Techniques crea una triloga fortuita con el fuzz suelto de Jicks en Sparkle Hard (2018) y los experimentos de Groove Denied (2019).
Centrado en la guitarra acstica de 12 cuerdas del compositor e influenciado por medio siglo de puntos de referencia de folk-rock, Traditional Techniques es el producto de Malkmus y Chris Funk (The Decemberists). Adems, Matt Sweeney (Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Chavez) toca la guitarra en todo momento. Los 10 cortes de Traditional Techniques se editan en CD y dos versiones LP, una de tirada limitada en vinilo rojo.
