En agosto de 1965, un irrepetible elenco de estrellas de Stax (Rufus & Carla Thomas, Booker T. & The M.G.s, The Mar-Keys, The Mad Lads, Wilson Pickett y William Bell) electrificaron el angelino 5-4 Ballroom durante dos noches seguidas. Muchos de estas leyendas actuaban en Los ngeles por primera vez y no dudaron en denunciar las tensiones polticas y culturales que das despus originaron los Disturbios de Watts.
El 2 disco incluye cortes del inusual showcase celebrado ese verano en el Club Paradise de Memphis en el participaron David Porter, The Astors, Booker T. & The M.G.s y Wendy Rene.
