Crescent seudnimo artstico de Matt Jones acaba de anunciar su primer lbum en ms de diez aos, el esperado Resin Pockets, a la venta el 26 de mayo de 2017.
Ha pasado mucho tiempo ya desde Little Waves (2007), una de las joyas ms valoradas de la msica independiente, y el lbum que Matt pudo hacer el el momento indicado, cuando la actividad con Movietone y Flying Saucer Attack (sus bandas) era menor. Crescent siempre ha buscado el momento oportuno para ver la luz y regalarnos algunas de las canciones pop ms bellas de los ltimos tiempos: melodas que nos sumergen en el personalsimo mundo de Jones, cargado de simbolismo y de sencillez, como si Pavement hubieran estado dirigidos por Jeff Mangum de Neutral MilK Hotel.
Las nueve canciones Resin Pockets fueron grabadas en diferentes lugares, tanto exteriores como interiores, por el propio Matt en colaboracin con su hermano Sam a la batera y la pandereta; aunque tambin aparecen otras caras conocidas como Kate Wright, de Movietone, a los coros, y Lisa Brook y Michal William, de Headfall, con las meldicas. Un disco de grabacin casera, de pop hecho con mucho cario y con un gusto refinado sobre las melodas sencillas pero con mucho valor, que devuelve a Crescent, y a los hermanos Jones, a la cspide de la escena perdida de Bristol en los aos noventa, de la que fueron protagonistas.
