Continuando con el formato de tro que ha favorecido a lo largo de su carrera, el guitarrista y compositor Bill Frisell siempre ha proyectado un alcance orquestal a travs de su sentido extraordinariamente completo de la armona y un agudo sentido de cmo el rango dinmico se puede utilizar para transmitir emocin.
En este nuevo lbum doble hace realidad esas evocaciones sinfnicas. Producido por Lee Townsend, Orchestras documenta dos inspirados compromisos en salas de conciertos arreglados por Michael Gibbs para el tro de Frisell con el bajista Thomas Morgan y el batera Rudy Royston: LP1 con la Filarmnica de Bruselas de casi 60 msicos, dirigida por Alexander Hanson; y LP2 con la Umbria Jazz Orchestra de 11 msicos, bajo la direccin musical de Manuele Morbidini.
