Este disco es, sin duda, el ms importante de la cantante cubana ya que le abri la puerta grande de la salsa. Pacheco tir la casa por la ventana con esta produccin grabada y publicada en 1974 para Vaya- etiqueta de Fania que celebra su 60 cumpleaos.
Entre la decena de canciones destacan ‘Toro Mata’, ‘El Tumbao y Celia’ y ‘Quimbara’ cuyo xito reconoci a Cruz como La Reina de la Salsa’. En 2014, el lbum fue incorporado a la Library of Congress por su relevancia histrica y cultural y Billboard lo incluy entre los 50 discos esenciales de la msica latina.
