En 1984, la legendaria cancin 99 Luftballons se convirti en un xito mundial y ciment el lugar de Nena en la historia de la msica internacional.
Nena: Nuestro guitarrista Carlo Karges tuvo la visin de la cancin cuando estbamos con la banda en un concierto de los Rolling Stones en Berln en 1982. Al final del concierto, los Stones soltaron globos que el viento llev hacia el Muro y la RDA. Ante esta poderosa imagen, Carlo se pregunt qu poda pasar si alguien la malinterpretaba. Escribi el texto esa misma noche y me lo ense en la sala de ensayos al da siguiente. Slo con leer las lneas sent escalofros y enseguida quise cantarla. A partir de entonces fue imparable(: … Y mientras yo est en el escenario, no habr concierto de Nena sin los globos.
Ahora, 40 aos despus, Nena y BMG celebran el lanzamiento de su lbum de debut en una edicin especial de aniversario. Todos los ttulos originales han sido cuidadosamente remasterizados a partir de las cintas originales para garantizar una excelente calidad de sonido y hacer que el espritu de aquella poca sea fiel al original.
