El lbum fue publicado originalmente en 1994 y fue el primer lbum de estudio de Bryan Ferry en siete aos que inclua grabaciones originales, habiendo trabajo en el lbum durante seis aos con el ttulo provisional de Horoscope. Las grabaciones alternativas inditas a las versiones finales de MAMOUNA se recogen por primera vez en estas reediciones de lujo como el lbum “Horoscope”. La versin en 3 CDs tambin incluye el lbum Horoscope’, con un disco adicional de maquetas inditas o “Sketches” de los lbumes ‘Mamouna’ y ‘Horoscope. La direccin artstica de la reedicin actualizada fue supervisada por el propio Bryan Ferry. El lbum cuenta con un elenco estelar de msicos de apoyo como Nile Rodgers, Guy Pratt y Steve Ferrone, as como, contribuciones de sus compaeros de Roxy Music Phil Manzanera, Andy Mackay y Brian Eno. El lbum alcanz el en el nmero 11 de la lista oficial de lbumes del Reino Unido e incluye los sencillos Don’t Want To Know, Your Painted Smile y el tema que da ttulo al lbum, MAMOUNA.
