En el 2000 grabaron duetos para los discos de Bennett (Duets y Playin With My Friends), aunque este lbum es su primer disco completo juntos. LOVE IS HERE TO STAY sale justo antes del 120 aniversario del nacimiento de George Gershwin, que es el 26 de septiembre. Bennett, artista multi-platino premiado con varios Grammy, es el nico en debutar con 85 y 88 aos respectivamente en el nmero 1 del Billboard y Krall es la nica artista jazz con 8 lbumes en el N1 en la lista del Billboard Jazz Albums.
