El primer disco de Joe Goddard miembro de bandas como Hot Chip o The 2 Bears, y fundador de la increble discogrfica Greco Roman -, Electric Lines, y supone su confirmacin dentro de la primera lnea de productores britnicos. Este nuevo lbum y su portada – hace referencia al colorido de los cables que unen los mdulos de los sintetizadores Eurorack, que simbolizan las lneas por las que Goddard ha pasado entre los diferentes estilos de msica electrnica: como Four Tet, Caribou o Jamie XX, Joe combina su desarrollo experimental, con un amor por el Dance unido a los elementos primigenios de la msica pop.
Pese a que este no es su primer disco oficial – lo sera la recopilacin Harvest Festival del 2009 -, esta es la primera vez que Goddard se enfrenta a un lbum al completo partiendo desde su propia entidad. Es la primera vez que senta que tena que poner mi corazn al servicio de un disco en solitario, y lo ha hecho uniendo referencias fundamentales de su vida, que van desde el techno y la msica disco a gneros ms clsicos como el R&B, el Garage o el Electro-pop. En este proyecto han participado artistas como Jeff Mills y Aleix Taylor, compaero de Joe en Hot Chip.
