El Oripand se ha gestado a lo largo de dos aos y es una obra inspirada en un nuevo tiempo y el resultado de una vida basada en la bsqueda. Aunque es una creacin basada en los cnones del flamenco es una obra vanguardista dirigida y producida por Antonio Orozco y donde Jos Merc habla por primera vez de su vida a travs de las canciones, con sentido y sensibilidad. En esta obra encontramos las colaboraciones de: Pablo Lpez (al piano) en la primera pieza Preludio de un da, Mala Rodrguez (voz) y Tomatito (guitarra) en Tengo cosas que contarte Dorantes (al piano) en Si t me lo pides, volvera a empezar y al prestigioso pianista chino Lang Lang, en El Caminante.
