En 1967, tras la publicacin en marzo de The Velvet Underground & Nico, la artista alemana abandon el grupo y grab su debut en solitario, ‘Chelsea Girl’- cuyo resultado la decepcion por la sensacin de que an no haba expresado su verdadero yo en canciones. Tras seguir los consejos de Jim Morrison (The Doors), Nico aprendi a tocar el armonio y componer, publicando ‘The Marble Index’ en 1968.
Dos aos ms tarde, ya no se pareca a la superestrella cuya imagen haba adornado carteles enormes por todo Manhattan. Su renacimiento artstico requera una nueva identidad visual y musical. Con tal propsito y en un momento crucial de transformacin personal, grab entre Londres y Pars las ocho canciones de su tercer disco, con produccin de Joe Boyd y, de nuevo, John Cale, que public Reprise en diciembre de 1970.
Tras una profunda remasterizacin desde las cintas originales, ahora, de nuevo, disponible en CD (SoftPak con libreto de 12 pginas) y LP (vinilo 140g negro con libreto de 4 pginas). Ambos formatos incluyen imgenes inditas tomadas por Guy Webster.
